The Press Box Theater is now accepting submissions for the original production of HURRICANE JIMMY — a bold, sultry rock musical infused with jazz and traditional musical theatre, set in 1948 New Orleans. This is a gritty, emotionally charged story of obsession, loyalty, violence, and fate — and we are seeking strong singers, committed actors, and fearless storytellers to bring this world to life.

PRINCIPAL ROLES

JIMMY BLALOCK – Male, 20s. Vocal: High Baritone / Bari-Tenor. A magnetic ex-con whose reckless charm and dangerous heart drive the story.

NADIA MONTERISSI – Female, late 20s. Vocal: Mezzo-Soprano / Belt. A former jazz singer trapped in a violent marriage, torn between the life she escaped and the love she never forgot.

BENNY MONTERISSI – Male, late 20s/early 30s. Vocal: Tenor. A volatile mob heir desperate to prove himself.

STEVE ERSKINE – Male, 30s. Vocal: Baritone. An honest contractor and family man trying to keep his crew — and his conscience — intact.

LUANNE DAVENPORT – Female, 30s. Vocal: Alto. A tough, hilarious single mom with a big heart and sharp wit.

DESIREE JEFFERSON – Female, 30s. Vocal: Mezzo-Soprano / Belt. Nadia’s loyal caretaker — smart, protective, and emotionally grounded.

CARLO MONTERISSI – Male, 60s+. Vocal: Baritone. The powerful patriarch of the Monterissi family.

STORYTELLER – Male, 30s+. Non-singing role. A mysterious street performer who guides the audience through the story.

JERRY – Male, 20s–40s. Non-singing role. A quiet, intimidating enforcer.
